Dear Mom,
You meant so very much to me,
And I want you to know,
That you are always in my heart,
No matter where I go.

You were always giving, always there,
To help in any way,
The loving things you've done for me,
I never could repay.

I can't imagine what I'd do,
Without the love you gave,
I'll treasure your sweet heart of gold,
As long as I shall live.

Dear Mom

When I was young, you helped me grow,
And taught me all I had to know.

Of love and trust and faith and hope,
And everything it takes to cope.

You may have thought I didn't hear,
Or maybe that you were'nt quite clear;

But all the things you taught me,
Were heeded very carefully.

And I want so much to thank you for
Your love, your care, and so much more!

He Only Takes The Best

God saw they were their happiest,
and something would not let that be.
So He put his arms around them,
and whispered,"Come with Me".

With tear filled eyes we watched them,
suffer and fade away;
although we loved them dearly,
we could not make them stay.

A golden heart stopped beating,
hard working hands put to rest,
God broke our hearts to prove to us,
He only takes the best.

When You Thought I Wasn't Looking

When you thought I wasn't looking you hung my first
painting on the refrigerator, and I wanted to paint another.
When you thought I wasn't looking you fed a stray cat,
and I thought it was good to be kind to animals.
When you thought I wasn't looking, you baked a
birthday cake just for me, and I knew that little
things were special things.
When you thought I wasn't looking you said a prayer,
and I believed there was a God that I could always talk to.
When you thought I wasn't looking you kissed me
good-night, and I felt loved.
When you thought I wasn't looking I saw tears come
from your eyes, and I learned that sometimes things hurt,
but that it's all right to cry.
When you thought I wasn't looking you smiled,
and it made me want to look that pretty, too.
When you thought I wasn't looking you cared,
and I wanted to be everything I could be.
When you thought I wasn't looking--I looked . . .
and wanted to say thanks for all those things
you did when you thought I wasn't looking.

I wanted to share something with everyone. I was in someone's beautiful web page one day reading some of there many poems they had listed. I had clicked on every one that I thought seemed interesting at the time and left others. But this one little poem seemed to keep jumping out at me. Every time I flipped through the poems pages and came back to the main menu, this poem seemed to keep highlighting itself to me. For awhile I ignored it until finally I just couldn't seem to ignore it any longer. So I clicked on it, and this is what it read....

I Stood By Your Bed Last Night

I stood beside your bed last night,
I came to have a peep.
I could see that you were crying,
quietly in your sleep.

I touched you softly
as you brushed away a tear,
"It's me, I haven't left you,
I'm well, I'm fine, I'm here."

I was close to you at breakfast,
I watched you pour coffee,
You were thinking of how much you
were in LOVE with me.

I was with you at the store today,
Your arms were getting sore.
I longed to take your parcels,
I wish I could do more.

I was with you at my grave today,
You tend it with such care.
I want to reassure you,
that I'm not really there.

I walked with you to the house,
as you fumbled for your key.
I gently put my hand on you,
I smiled and said "it's me."

You looked so very tired,
and sank into a chair.
I tried so hard to let you know,
that I was standing there.

It's possible for me to be
so near you everyday.
To say to you with certainty,
"I never went away."

You sat there very quietly, then
smiled, I think you knew ...
In the stillness of that evening,
I was very close to you.

The day is over... I smile and watch
you yawning and say
"goodnight, God bless,
I'll see you in the morning."

And when the time is right for you
to cross the brief divide,
I'll rush across to greet you and
we'll stand, side by side.

I have so many things to
show you, there is so much for you to see.
Be patient, live your journey out
then come home to be with me.
